Can multiple people use the same smart lock?
If several people have the code for a keypad or a remote entry lock, then yes. Codes, however, can be changed. A wi-fi/Bluetooth lock can be programmed for use at specific times.
Do smart locks work with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
Yes. There are smart locks that use either technology. Wi-fi uses internet access to open the lock either with a code or remotely. It has a longer range than Bluetooth paired with a smart device. However, many locks pair both for complete coverage and convenience.
Can I install a smart lock on any door?
You must consider the kind of door: a standard one, glass door, sliding door, etc. The measurements of the backset (that section from the edge of the door to the bore for the lock) will also determine your choice. However, with so many options, you can find a great lock.
Are smart locks secure?
These locks, like a wi-fi smart lock, protect you with programmable codes, remote access, and sophisticated biometrics that can’t be duplicated. There are also alerts to track use and provide activity logs; you can even get a smart lock for home safes
