HOW DOES THREE WORK?

THREE features a built-in CPU and GPU, 13MP Sony optical sensors, a state of the art DLP projector, and WIFI/ethernet connectivity. With extensive research and development, we created software that fully exploits the hardware to capture and intelligently process 37 micron resolution scans in about 20 seconds.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER 3D SCANNERS

Other scanners require a massively powerful and expensive computer. Your THREE works with practically any computer, tablet or chromebook. Other scanners require you to hold them steady, at just the right place to avoid losing tracking, while watching a computer screen to see if it’s actually working. THREE features automatic and user-directed scan alignment. Using your included tripod, simply point the scanner at what you want to capture. The software will automatically align your scans on completion.

HOW CAN THIS WORK WITHOUT A POWERFUL COMPUTER?

Our development team built the software from the ground up. It’s beautiful, simple, powerful, and incredibly efficient with an on board CPU and GPU. Accessing your THREE is done through your web browser, so any modern device can run it.

WHAT IS THE SCAN SPEED, RESOLUTION, SCAN DISTANCE?

Capture time: 4 seconds.
Processing time: 10 seconds.
Projector frame rate: 60 fps.
Scan object distance to camera: 220 mm to 700 mm (8.66 inches to 27.56 inches).
Resolution: 37 microns @ 220 mm, 65 microns @ 400 mm, 114 microns @ 700mm.
Z-accuracy: 33 microns @ 220 mm, 150 microns @ 400 mm, 400 microns @ 700 mm.
Minimum capturable feature size: 0.2 mm (0.0078 in).
Maximum capturable object size: theoretically unlimited, but practically limited to 16 GB storage space.

ISN’T BLUE LIGHT BETTER THAN WHITE LIGHT? HOW DOES CHROMASPEC WORK?

Contrary to popular belief, blue light doesn’t automagically deliver higher-quality scans. Blue light scanners struggle to capture certain colors, so scanning spray is almost always required. THREE’s breakthrough ChromaSpec algorithm uses the full color spectrum to detect and process different-colored areas of the object. With THREE, most of the time you won’t need to worry about scan sprays. Instead of messing around, trying to get the settings just right, THREE lets you quickly get the scan you need, and keep your project moving forward.

HOW IS THREE A VISION DEVELOPMENT TOOL?

THREE is the easiest 3D scanner you’ll ever use, with built-in software that lets you quickly set up and capture the scan you need. But it can do more as well. It has a full API and on-board processing, so if you want to get into some really cool vision system hacking, it’s ready to go. A Github repository of example projects will be available that you can run and modify. No other 3D scanner has this ability.

As soon as your order is placed, you will receive an order confirmation e-mail.  This confirms your order has been received in our system and your credit card is authorized for purchase.  As soon as we receive your order, we begin processing to confirm that it is in stock and available for immediate shipment.  If your item is on backorder or unavailable, we will reach out to you via e-mail to confirm if you'd like to keep your order or cancel for a full refund.  If your item(s) are available for immediate shipment, we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment.

ORDER SHIPMENT

Please reference your product page for specific lead times. After shipment, items will arrive in 2-7 business days.

Some models are custom made, and can take as long as 4-5 weeks to ship depending on the model and series. Please contact customer service before ordering if delivery time is a concern of yours.

Certain items due to high demand and low supply can only be placed on back order at specific times. Please contact customer service to hear about any item's availability.

Please contact us for rush shipping rates and options. We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out.  If you do not receive tracking information from us within four business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at info@machineshark.com.

Large items that ship via freight (not UPS or Fedex) require a signature upon delivery. You will receive a call from the shipping company to arrange a time and day for delivery that works for you.

PRODUCT QUALITY GUARANTEE

Please inspect the packaging of your item(s) when they arrive, if you notice any damage you should REFUSE the package, and make note of it on the delivery receipt. If your item(s) do arrived damaged, please contact us immediately and send photos to info@machineshark.com. We will process an insurance claim on your behalf and happily work with you to resolve the issue and refund or replace your order.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Generally, most of the items we carry can be returned within 30 days of receipt in new condition and unopened.
